We have a total loss of Telehouse East with knock on cosequences to national networking. We are investigating.

London media gateways

We are currently investigating some odd behaviour with some of our London media gateways. For the time being we have failed over to Manchester. Customers using 'outbound.esms.com' as specified need not make any changes. Customers who haven't, do. Please see our interop information and configure as specified.

Maintenance - Monday January 16th

Please be advised we will be carrying out maintenance in Telehouse East overnight on Monday January 16th to install new 10Gb modules. This will involve shutting down a core router there which will affect customers connecting into us in Telehouse East for transit and VPLS service. It will also intermittently affect voice services for the duration of the work. 

We will also be installing new access switching equipment. This is not expected to be service affecting but specific customers will be re-patched and have been notified separately.

Network event

A network event earlier lead to instability on the network. An error in a routine BGP change led to the leakage of routes to peers which lead to many sessions closing down and substantially increased CPU load. This was corrected but took a few minutes to recover. Certain routes may change while peering sessions recover. Customers in Manchester and Edinburgh should have been unaffected. Apologies for any inconvenience.

We have an outage in Manchester. All voice traffic has been failed to London and we're investigating.

Maintenance - Saturday August 6th

In order to perform urgent maintenance on our link between Manchester and Edinburgh, traffic between these two sites will be temporarily rerouted through Edinburgh for a short time. No loss of service will result, just an additional 7ms of latency while going the long-way round the ring. Voice customers will be unaffected as traffic between sites for our voice network uses a separate circuit between these sites. 

ICMP blocked

As part of a security upgrade we have blocked ICMP access to our infrastructure inside our edge routers. This means customers can only ping some equipment. It does not mean this equipment or service is down.

We will be carrying out maintenance in Telehouse east, though this should not disrupt any service in that location.
